Medvedev can be heard saying, ” I would like to say, I never said this before, I had a pretty toxic relationship with the court here. Lot of love-hate and I would like to thank his court, I only played on this court, so I would like to thank this court. I was giving this court hard time and it gave hard time also, I rolled my ankle and a thumb. But it gave me the chance to finish the tournament, so thanks a lot to this court. I would definitely be back.”
Earlier in the tournament, in his round of 16 match vs Alexander Zverev, Medvedev was showing his disdain for the court and can be heard saying, ” should be banned from playing here. Freaking disgrace to the sport. And they call it hard court. What a shame to call this awful court, a hard court.”

Medvedev was gracious in his defeat and went to praise Alcaraz. He said, “I’d like to congratulate Carlos. You’ve had amazing achievements. Today is one of them winning Indian Wells. I also dream of it. Maybe next time you’ll give me the chance.. you’re probably the most respectful person on tour. I think you say hi to 300 people a day”
