The India Football Team is set to take part in a Tri-Nation friendly tournament slated to take place in Vietnam. The Tri-Nation friendly tournament will take place in October 2024 during the FIFA International Break window. The Blue Tigers will be facing the likes of Lebanon and Vietnam in the tournament.

It will be interesting to see India face off against Vietnam and Lebanon given both the teams are ranked higher than India in the FIFA Rankings. India’s rankings have spiraled down off late especially after poor performances in the AFC Asian Cup and the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Currently, India is ranked 124 while hosts Vietnam are placed at the 116th spot while Lebanon occupies the 117th spot.

What’s next for India Football Team?
The turmoil in Indian Football continues. The AIFF vs Igor Stimac is yet to be resolved. On the other hand, the hunt for the new India head coach continues. As per latest reports, a total of 281 people have applied for the coveted job.
In the meantime, rumours have been circulating about India not participating in the upcoming King’s Cup and the Merdeka Cup. But as InsideSport previously reported that the acting General secretary of the AIFF refuted these claims.
While the AIFF is yet to clear the air on India’s participation in these two tournaments, but in October, India will definitely face Vietnam and Lebanon.
