Qatar steamrolled India to secure their second win in the campaign. The visitors scored 3 goals against the Blue Tigers to showcase their dominance in the game.

Qatar started the game on a positive note and Moustafa Tarek gave his side the lead in the 5th minute of the game. The visitors went on to attack India with barrages of attacks but resilient Blues remained ever alert. India got 2 good chances to be in level terms but Apuia and Thapa squandered their shots to make the shots go begging.

Back into the second half, Qatar has been brilliant. Like a fox in the box, Almoez Ali pounced on the ball to score Qatar their second goal in the game. Towards the dying minutes of the game, a sudden move from Qatar saw substitute Yusuf Abdurisag extend the lead for the visitors and win the tie.

Following the match, India Football Team head coach, Igor Stimac said that his team had a chance for a fightback had they not conceded two early goals on either half of the game. “I’m happy because as I said prior to that the result was not our priority. We conceded the goals and then after that you can see and after the nervousness in the first 10-15 minutes, they created 4-5 corners. So, it was it was really difficult but I appreciate our boys commitment in the game.”

“Our boys just kept playing and tight and that’s what I wanted and that’s part of the learning process. It’s a good lesson for us to play and being like this you cannot give away, but we had some good reactions,” said Stimac.

“I’m quite clear, I think whenever I speak, speak for us, the most important thing is to knowing that we’re not going to get enough time information cut such important for us, and I don’t want my players to get there, and we’re gonna fight, definitely going to leave everything. But I’m not worried about it, I need to make sure that we get enough points in our qualifiers,” Stimac concluded.
