Talk about a feel-good story. Tottenham Hotspurs winger Ivan Perisic has joined his boyhood club, Hajduk Split, for the remainder of the season on just £1 monthly wage. The Croatian had sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in September last year that ruled him out of the season.
The currently injured player has therefore been loaned to Hajduk Split until his contract with the Spurs’ comes to an end in July. As a gesture of goodwill, the 34-year-old has decided to charge his home club just £1 until the season ends.
Once the season is over and his contract with Tottenham Hotspurs expires, Hajduk Split will sign the veteran winger on a one-year deal.
Ivan Perisic had played 50 matches for the Tottenham Hotspurs in the Premier League, having joined the club in 2022 on a two-year deal. During his time with the Spurs, he scored one and assisted in 14 goals.
