Igor Stimac vs AIFF saga continues! Former India head coach keeps promises and drags AIFF to FIFA over contract breach

The Igor Stimac vs AIFF battle continues. The former India Football Team head coach has now dragged the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to FIFA. Stimac has filed a complaint to the global football body over his breach of contract. Stimac has filed for his compensation which needs to be paid by the AIFF till June 2026.

Following India’s loss to Qatar in the World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, it was understood that Stimac would resign from his post. But after India failed to qualify, Stimac continued to stay on his post. Finally the AIFF decided to terminate the contract of Stimac. And thus began the Igor Stimac vs AIFF saga.

Igor Stimac takes AIFF to FIFA

Previously, Stimac claimed that he would take the AIFF to FIFA if his compensation till June 2026 is not met. “It’s all in the hands of my lawyer. The case is very simple so I am confident about the final verdict,” Stimac told The Hindustan Times.

“Our position is very simple. My client’s contract was terminated from the position of the head coach without just cause. The compensation offered to the head coach by the national association is not acceptable and so we have approached the FIFA Football Tribunal,” Davor Radic, Stimac’s lawyer told The Hindustan Times.

When Stimac was sacked he was offered a three month compensation which the former head coach refused. And now the Croatian has appealed to the FIFA to get his compensation cleared by the AIFF.
