Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo is not the biggest fan of Lionel Messi. From mocking the Ballon d’Or when Messi won it for the 8th time, to getting angry at fans chanting Messi’s name, Ronaldo has been at the center of controversy regarding the Argentine World Cup winner in past. A new video surfaced on social media of Ronaldo getting irked by fans chanting Messi’s name during Riyadh Season Cup 2024 match between Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr on February 8 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
Ronaldo played a mostly ineffective game as Al Hilal defeated Al Nassr 2-0. The Al-Hilal goalkeeper Yassine Bonou only had to save one of the Portugal international’s four shots during the match. Ronaldo became agitated during the match when Al-Hilal supporters started chanting “Lionel Messi.”.
Ronaldo got agitated by the continuous chanting of Messi’s name and replied by making a gesture towards the fans and mouthed something to the tune of “I am here now. Not Messi.”
Another video of Ronaldo making an offensive gesture toward Al-Hilal and its supporters appeared on social media. A few Al-Hilal scarves were thrown at the striker as he was leaving the field. In response, the 39-year-old grabbed the scarf and gestured to his crotch before discarding it.
