Harry Kane Transfer: Former Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney had his part to say about Harry Kane’s current situation. Kane has expressed that he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur. However, it seems unlikely that he will be let go. Bayern Munich are pushing hard for the transfer. Manchester United also showed interest, but it will be tough for them to match Spurs’ valuation. Reflecting on the situation, Rooney said Kane looks like a prisoner at Spurs. He also said that Kane would be an ‘ideal player’ for Man United.

Former Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney expressed his feelings about his former England teammate’s situation. Talking to The Athletic, he said, “Harry Kane would be the ideal player, for me, to go and join Manchester United. It looks like he’s being held as a prisoner at Tottenham! It looks very difficult for him to get out of there. If Manchester United have Harry Kane, then that gives their chances of going to win, and compete, a lot easier. But where that happens, remains to be seen.”
Harry Kane has requested a move away for the second time in 2 years now. When he wanted to leave in 2021, Manchester City came knocking and they had a lot to offer. They offered to pay £127 million for the prolific England striker. However, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy stayed adamant on his decision. The same has been the case during this transfer window. Spurs ended last season in 8th place in the Premier League table. This means that they will not be playing in any European competition in the upcoming season.
It was easy to understand that Kane might not want to stay with them. On top of that, he only has a year left on his contract with Spurs. He has not extended his contract with them and has not shown any interest in extending it. As a result, many clubs were ready to pounce on the opportunity. Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag is an admirer of the 29-year-old. They showed interest in the beginning, but they have a limited budget to work with.

Whereas, Spurs have put a £100 million asking price over Kane’s head. Additionally, they are unwilling to sell their ace player to any of their Premier League rivals. Bayern Munich have approached at this moment and presented Spurs with 2 bids where the latest was valued at £70 million. However, all bids have been rejected. Reportedly, Bayern and Levy are still in talks about the matter and could still settle on an amount. Especially considering if Kane walks out as a free agent next year, he might join another Premier League club.
Apparently, Kane wants to move to Bayern as well. Their honorary President Uli Hoeness said a few days ago, “Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands – and if he keeps to his word, then we’ll get him because then Tottenham will have to buckle.” However, Kane has not yet said a word regarding his move. Additionally, he took part in their first pre-season game against West Ham United. Kane could not get his name on the scoresheet in their 3-2 loss against the Hammers.
