Harry Kane Transfer: Harry Kane only has a year left on his contract with Tottenham Hotspur. It has been clear for some time that he does not want to extend his contract with them. However, the transfer Saga is getting more complicated as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is especially reluctant to let go of their ace player. As per reports, after Bayern Munich’s £60 million bid was rejected, Kane personally met with Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel. Reportedly, Levy has been angry over the secret meeting.

Tottenham Hotspur ended the last season in 8th place in the Premier League table. And they have no chance of playing in any form of European competition in the upcoming season. Even in such a horrible season, Harry Kane scored a total of 32 goals and provided 5 assists. The soon-to-be 30-year-old is still in amazing form. Many believe that if he moves to another club he can win many trophies with them. Kane must have believed the same when he tried to leave 2 years ago.
However, Spurs have forever remained reluctant about letting go of their star forward. As a result, when Manchester City came knocking 2 years ago with a huge £136 million offer for Kane, Spurs rejected them. Kane still has a year left on his contract and he is ready to leave again. However, this time he does not have a lot of prospects. Spurs have made themselves clear that day will not agree to a price lower than £85 million. As a result, Manchester United backed away from the transfer race.
They were the only English club who were interested in Kane. Hence, without any option left at home, Kane now has to look for a move abroad. Bayern Munich have come knocking with a £60 million offer which has expectedly been rejected. Reportedly, following this, Kane met with Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel at his home in London. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who has been especially stubborn about not letting Kane go has become angry hearing about the secret meeting. Bayern could come again with an improved offer but they already said that £85 million is too much.

Bayern’s board member, Uli Hoeness said during an interview, “I think the transfer is totally crazy. He’s a great player, no question about it, but these are amounts that I would never pay as president. I’m one of nine members on the supervisory board who have a say in the executive committee when it comes to large expenses of over €25m (£21m). I can imagine that, one day, a player would go to Bayern who costs around €100m, but I’ve already given my opinion on the Kane case.”
He added, “He’s almost 30 years old and last year, Tottenham rejected Manchester City’s €160m (£136m) offer. I said it would be crazy if Bayern approached such a transfer. I would give my private opinion. I’m one of nine and if the other eight say he’s going to be bought, then he’s going to be bought. That’s how it is in a democracy.” Harry Kane will not be extending his contract with Spurs. Hence, the only question that remains is whether Levy will sell Kane or let him walk free next year.
