As per reports, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy was visited by Jan-Christian Dreesen, the CEO of Bayern Munich. This was not the first time the clubs held talks over Harry Kane. However, this was following the news that PSG have entered the race. Spurs and Levy are absolutely unwilling to let go of their ace and have set a £100 million asking price. Bayern have bid twice and their highest bid was worth £70 million. Reportedly, PSG will swoop in with a £85 million offer for Kane.
However, it’s still clear whether Spurs will agree to a contract even if someone matches their asking price. History says otherwise as they previously rejected a £127 million offer for Kane from Manchester City in 2021. Apparently, they are trying to tie Kane by offering him a lucrative deal. As per that deal, he will be earning a £400,000-per-week salary. This will make him one of the Premier League’s highest-paid players. However, Kane has not agreed on extending his contract and is keen on a move away.
Additionally, he only has a year left on his contract. Kane will leave as a free agent at the end of next season if Spurs can neither get him to sign an extension nor sell him now. In that case, Kane could decide to stay in England and sign for any of Spurs’ Premier League rivals next season. Manchester United already showed a lot of interest in him. The England captain is currently the second-highest scorer in the history of the Premier League.

He only needs to score 48 more goals to break Alan Shearer’s record and become the top goalscorer. This has been a motivating factor for Kane as he wanted to stay in England. However, Levy will never sell him to a Premier League rival. Hence, he will now move abroad if he needs to. He will still prefer a move to Bayern than PSG. Additionally, Bayern could be submitting a new and improved bid. Talks are still open which is evident from the recent meeting held between the two club chiefs.
Hence, there is still a strong chance that Kane will move to Bayern before the transfer window closes. Upon the arrival of their new coach, Ange Podtecoglou, questions were asked of the coach regarding Kane’s future. The coach expressed uncertainty over the matter as he said, “It is kind of going along, trying to concentrate on things I know right now.” It’s pretty clear that Daniel Levy will not go easy during the negotiations for the player as they will keep trying to extend Kane’s contract.
