Bayern Munich’s newest addition Harry Kane has noticed the desire within the Bundesliga champions to excel at their job and compared their mentality to his former team Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane, who recently shifted base to Germany for £100million after spending 14 years at Tottenham Hotspur, will be looking to carry on his club form for national colours when England face Ukraine on Saturday.
Kane has hit the ground running for the Bavarians, scoring 3 goals in 3 matches.
‘Different pressure than Spurs’
Speaking to the media ahead of England vs Ukraine, The Three Lions captain Kane said, “It’s definitely a different pressure compared to what I felt at Spurs. Of course we wanted to win things at Spurs but if you went a couple of games without winning then it wasn’t a disaster.
“The feeling at Bayern is that you have to win every game. We won the first two games 4-0 and 3-1 and there was still talk about not being too happy about the way we played,” Kane said.

On asked if he felt the pressure of playing for the reigning Bundesliga champions, Kane said, “That’s part and parcel of being at one of the biggest clubs in the world. But we’ve had a good start and I’m enjoying feeling those different emotions and that’s part of the reason that I wanted to go. And we start the Champions League campaign when we get back, which they expect to win – or have a good chance of winning. So you’re going into those games with maybe a different feeling to what I’ve had in the past.”
‘Watching peers win silverware hurt’
Despite being Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer, Kane never won a major trophy at the club. Kane admitted watching teammates lift major trophies spurred him on to join Bayern.
“As a competitor, when the boys are playing the Champions League and I am just sitting at home watching it, I would be lying if I said there wasn’t a part of me that hurt.
“Of course, I want them to do well but a part of me wants to have those experiences. I am not sure jealous is the right word but with other players in the team having done that, it does motivate me to go on and try to push myself towards some of those trophies the guys have got,” Kane said.
