Jean-Claude Blanc is the frontrunner to become the new CEO of Manchester United. Richard Arnold, the Premier League club’s chief executive, announced his departure on Wednesday. He spent 16 years at United and took over the position for Ed Woodward in February 2022. Patrick Stewart will serve as acting Chief Executive in Arnold’s place for the time being until December.

Now according to talkSPORT, Blanc has been named as his permanent replacement. The Frenchman is currently in charge of the sporting portfolio of INEOS, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s company. Ratcliffe is poised to finalize his 25% stake in Manchester United in the coming days.

The British billionaire, who is a supporter of the team, hopes to someday take over complete control from the Glazers. Last November, Man United’s present owners declared that they were ‘exploring strategic alternatives.’

It is believed that he has decided to replace Arnold with Blanc in the future. Jean-Claude Blanc also has a football background, having previously worked for both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

The 60-year-old, Jean-Claude Blanc, was a sports marketing executive for the Paris Saint Germain and briefly served as Juve’s CEO. When Ratcliffe’s takeover is complete, he and his colleagues will be in charge of football operations. The addition of a well-known CEO would assist him in changing things up while Man United goes through a moment of transition.

This week also saw new investment in the club, with US billionaire Leon Cooperman purchasing shares in the Manchester giants. However, his £13.5 million investment is much less than the £1.4 billion that Ratcliffe is scheduled to pay for his 25% ownership.
