10. Youcef Belaili (Algeria) vs Morocco:
Youcef Belaïli left his mark on the history of derbies between Algeria and Morocco this year by scoring an extraordinary goal. The 29-year-old Algerian midfielder scored his team’s second goal in extra time for the Arab Cup quarter-finals with a strike from more than 40 meters.
Found in midfield following a long raise from his goalkeeper, Youcef Belaïli controlled the ball with his chest before turning around and sending a half volley into the skylight of Moroccan goalkeeper Anas Zniti. The latter was totally surprised and was lobbed by the strike from the Qatar FC player.

9. Paul Pogba (France) vs Switzerland:
Paul Pogba scored one of the goals of Euro 2020 in France’s last-16 tie against Switzerland before pulling out the dance moves. The 28-year-old took aim from nearly 30 yards out where he curled in a stupendous strike into the top right corner to put Les Bleus 3-1 up.
The United man picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area, looked up and unleashed a worldie into the top corner of Yann Sommer’s net. It was the Manchester United midfielder’s first international goal since he scored against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final.

8. Nadiem Amiri (Bayer Leverkusen) vs Eintracht Frankfurt:
Nadiem Amiri harnessed the power of Dennis Bergkamp as he opened the scoring for Bayer Leverkusen against Eintracht Frankfurt in February 2021. The Germany midfielder scored the goal of the day, and laid down an early marker for this year’s Puskas Award, in the ninth minute of the game.
Amiri received a chipped ball in the box and turned the defender marking him with a wonderfully executed nutmeg, to leave him one-on-one with Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp. The attacker stumbled a bit in front of the goalie, who attempted to close him down, but Amiri then back-heeled the ball past Trapp and into the goal, utter perfection!

7. Erik Lamela (Tottenham Hotspur) vs Arsenal
The Argentinean who has since moved on to Sevilla saw his stunning strike find the bottom corner in last season’s north London derby at the Emirates Stadium. Erik Lamela’s Rabona goal for Tottenham against Arsenal in March had been shortlisted for the 2021 Puskas Award.
Lamela saw his stunning strike nutmegged the defender and find the bottom corner in which the Gunners went on to win 2-1 with Lamela also sent off in the match. If Lamela would have won the award then it would be the second successive time a Tottenham goal has been chosen, following from Son Heung-min’s individual effort against Burnley in 2020.

The strike put San Lorenzo 3-2 up and they went on to score another to move up to second spot in the table. 1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) vs Manchester City
The 76th minute effort saw Liverpool go 2-1 ahead at Anfield, following strikes from Sadio Mane and Phil Foden. Indeed, many believed Salah’s effort was going to be enough for Jurgen Klopp’s men. But they were undone just five minutes later when Kevin De Bruyne equalised for the champions. And the title clash at Anfield finished 2-2, with both sides picking up a point.
The thriller also saw a memorable moment from City’s Bernardo Silva, who skipped his way past three Liverpool players before leaving Virgil van Dijk on the floor with a mazy run of his own. However, it was Salah’s goal that fans continued to rave about long after the final whistle.
