Raheem Sterling is currently unhappy at Manchester City and with just a year remaining on his contract, Pep Guardiola will be eager to sell the player rather than lose him for free next summer. It is understood that a transfer fee in the range of £50m would be accepted by the Manchester Blues.

Sterling has already agreed on personal terms with Chelsea and is ready for his next destination. Manchester City previously rejected Chelsea’s opening bid for the forward, however, reports from Fabrizio Romano claim that a fresh new and improved bid is on the way.

As for Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel will have to solve a major issue in terms of the goal-scoring abilities of his forwards. Both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner failed to turn up last season and with Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech also tempted to move away from Stamford Bridge, Raheem Sterling’s arrival in London is a no-brainer.

Sterling has been a deadly attacking threat for Manchester City till recently when he fell off the good books of Pep Guardiola. Sterling at 27 years, is nearing his peak and thus would want to be in a team where he gets to contribute more on and off the pitch.

As for Manchester City, the Blues will be losing two of their key forwards. With Gabriel Jesus on his way to join Arsenal and Sterling hinting at a move to Chelsea, City has replacements ready in the form of new signings, Erling Haaland and Alvarez.

Apart from Sterling, Chelsea has shown a long-term interest in signing Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona. Dembele who will be a free agent within a few days hasn’t signed a contract extension with the Catalan giants.
