The match kick-off was delayed as the referee Stuart Attwell was seen dealing with a technical issue. Apparently, he was having some problems with his microphone. Before the start of the match, the coaches of both teams came forward and shook each other’s hands. However, Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi was seen pointing a finger toward the Spurs coach Cristian Stellini.
The fight broke out as the match started, but they started fighting again when Brighton scored the equalizer against the Spurs. According to reports, Brighton coach De Zerbi celebrated the goal in front of the Tottenham Hotspur bench which ignited another fight. The fight started once again in the second half when referee Attwell decided that it was enough, so he sent off both coaches away from the pitch.
As per reports, the fight did not start between the two coaches, but during the second half, the fight was happening between Stefano Bruno, Spurs’ fitness coach, and some members of the Brighton bench. The Brighton boss later said that it was because he felt the Spurs coach did not respect him.
He said, “I’m used to always respecting everyone inside of the pitch and outside of the pitch and I don’t like when the people don’t respect me. I always respect everyone, especially the coaches. I can answer for me. Not for him… It was a personal situation and I told him my idea. Not bad words, just my idea.”

This will be Brighton coach De Zerbi’s third suspension this season. He saw a red card back in February when he said some insulting words toward the referee. The other suspension occurred as he received his fourth yellow card this season in their match against Crystal Palace. Now, both coaches will see some time banned from the pitch.
Tottenham won the match 2-1 against Brighton in the match. After the match, Spurs coach, Cristian Stellini said, “It was an important game and we beat them in their stadium. Probably every one of us was full of anger and tension. But everything that happened on the pitch stays there and it does now. I don’t like to be involved when there is a fight or something too aggressive. I’m quiet and focused on the game.”
