Kim Min Jae Transfer: The stellar debut season for Kim Min-Jae at Napoli has alerted many European giants as Liverpool and PSG have both shortlisted the center-back ahead of the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old arrived in Napoli in the summer from the Turkish side Fenerbahce, replacing Kalidou Koulibaly who joined Chelsea. The signing of the center-back has proved to be phenomenal signing as Napoli has conceded just 16 goals so far in Serie A, sitting at the top of the points table with a 12 points lead and well on course for their first League title since Diego Maradona’s departure from the club 33 years back.

The success of the Naples-based club has been led by players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen, but Kim’s performance at the back has been equally important, with 33 appearances in all competitions.

Manchester United has notably been linked with Kim this summer, as reported United are looking to offload Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to make room for the South Korean. Also, PSG holds interest in the 26-year-old.

On the other hand, Liverpool has seen a drastic fall in performance this season, as Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a major revamp in the midfield and defensive area, as recently we witnessed in the 4-1 thrashing of the Merseysider in the hands of Man City in Etihad.

However, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has linked Liverpool with a move for the Napoli defender ahead of the summer transfer window. Napoli is aware of the interest of their defender and he may be open to leaving for Liverpool, resulting in the Italian signing to extend his contract with a massive release clause.

The journalist reports, ‘In Napoli, we are aware of Liverpool’s interest in Kim Min-jae. Napoli would like to extend it and if possible remove its release clause. His entourage would welcome a departure for the Reds.

Liverpool is believed to be in search of a defender, and it seems they lead the race to sign Kim. However, inserting a release clause of around €90 million, as the Italian side regards him very highly. A massive transfer fee could be a huge block for Klopp’s side which are hesitant to spend huge amounts. However, the struggles of the current season must have realized the club’s hierarchy to make huge investments in the summer window in order to revive the club’s performance on the pitch.
