Meanwhile, their permanent option might take time and a new manager may join the club in the summer of 2023. Former Spain and Barcelona manager held talks with chairman Todd Boehly yesterday, just hours before the club spoke to Frank Lampard over an interim role.
Frank Lampard will be the caretaker by Saturday. The former Everton manager was at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night and looks set to be the caretaker manager.
According to SunSport, Chelsea’s record 211 goal-scorer and former manager Lampard has agreed to take the manager role for Saturday’s away encounter against Wolves.

Lampard will take support from his assistants Ashley Cole, Joe Edwards, and Chris Jones.
Luis Enrique left the Spanish football team after the World Cup 20222. The Champions League-winning manager planned to wait before returning to management.
Chelsea have to deal with various options and they don’t want to stick with the Spaniard. They can also pick Ex-Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann and Fulham’s Marco Silva. They are the potential candidates to replace Graham Potter.
Chelsea sacked two managers in just one season and it raises questions on new ownership. It is believed Enrique is keen to take the job and work in the Premier League.
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is also in the plan of Chelsea. Pochettino recently worked with PSG but he failed to win the Champions League. He was linked with Man United but the club didn’t prefer him.
First-team coach Bruno Saltor is the interim boss but Boehly wants to give this responsibility to Frank Lampard. Chelsea have to play tough games in the remainder of the season. They stand 11th in the table.
Lampard was Chelsea’s manager for 17 months before he was sacked in January 2021, would give Boehly the choice of a manager who knows Stamford Bridge.
After playing Wolves, Chelsea will play defending champions Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night.
