Antonio Conte Sacking: The drama continues in Tottenham Hotspur after the Southampton draw. The Spurs coach went to Italy during the international break but his statement during the press conference can leave his job. According to few reports, the club is reportedly set to sack Antonio Conte this week. Follow Premier League LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN
The 53-year-old Italian boss made a tough remark on the club and its players. The whole episode started after the Premier League game. Tottenham had good control on the game with a 3-1 lead and they were looking to seal three points. The Saints didn’t allow this and scored two more goals to make it 3-3.
Taking just one point against a relegation-zoned team, Spurs are in trouble in their pursuit of a top-four finish. Conte lost control after the game and admitted that few players are not playing for the club.
What Conte said after the Southampton game?
The Tottenham manager said: “I think it’s better to go into the problem, we are not a team. We are 11 players that go into the pitch. I see selfish players, players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put their heart.”
He added, “This season compared to last, now we are worse in this aspect. When you are not a team you cannot improve. They don’t play for something important, yeah. They don’t want to play under pressure, they don’t want to play under stress.
Conte also spoke on the club’s failure in past few years, “It is easy in this way. Tottenham’s story is this, 20 years there is the owner and they never won something but why? The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stay here.
“I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench. You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and to protect the other situation in every moment. Until now I try to hide the situation but now, no, because I repeat I don’t want to see what I have seen today.”
SunSport have claimed that several of the Spurs players want the Italian sacked. The Telegraph are now reporting chairman Daniel Levy is getting ready to part ways with Conte.

It’s reported that Ryan Mason could take caretaker charge until the end of the season. Tottenham will play their next game after the international break on April 03 against Everton.
If we look at the table, Tottenham are two points clear of fifth-placed Newcastle who have two games in hand. Liverpool and Brighton are also fighting hard for Champions League qualification.
“The players have to be involved in this situation because it is time to change this situation if Tottenham want to change. They can change the manager, a lot of managers, but the situation cannot change. Believe me”, said Conte during press conference.
There is a report from SunSport that says Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, and Zinedine Zidane are the potential candidates to take the job of Tottenham manager. All three former coaches are free now. Zidane hasn’t taken any role since his departure from Real Madrid. Tuchel was sacked from Chelsea last year and he is free. Mauricio Pochettino is also open after leaving PSG last year.
