About Messi’s future at PSG, coach Christophe Galtier said, “I know that Leo Messi and the board have been in talks.” He also said, “As for whether Leo Messi will be here next season or not, I have said that it is about desire. I know people are discussing it but Leo Messi is happy in the dressing room.” He further added, “As for his future, it is too early to know what will happen.”
Lionel Messi has been involved in a total of 35 goals this season in 31 appearances. This involves 18 goals and 17 assists. He has a dynamic relationship with Mbappe, Neymar Jr., Ramos, and all the other players in the dressing room. The World Cup final clash between Argentina and France could’ve led to problems between Messi and Mbappe, but no such unpleasantry has been seen among the two star players.
About Messi’s performance, Galtier said, “He has 18 goals and 17 assists this season. I know there was some criticism about the [Champions League] game against Bayern Munich, but he wasn’t the only one.”
He added, “He is able to be decisive, and he has often done so this season. He is among the best assist providers and he scores goals. Given his conduct in the dressing room every day, given his age, he still trains every day and is always happy to play and get his team-mates playing.”

Lionel Messi’s contract with PSG ends in June, 2023 and as the date gets closer, more and more rumors are spreading about his future. The strongest rumors have been about his move back to Barcelona or his move to David Beckham’s club Inter Miami in MLS, or to Qatar.

Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas has shown interest in signing the World Cup winner to his team saying, “Well, look, both David Beckham and I aspire to bring the best players in the world here to Miami, not only because of the project we are creating.” He added, “We want to be the point of reference for soccer in the United States, but when you talk about the best players in the world, Leo is obviously the best player on the planet.”
There have been rumors about a Qatari club offering as much as €350 million for Lionel Messi. Adding fuel to that, recently his father Jorge Messi was spotted in Riyadh along with two members of the royal family. There have also been reports by Gerard Romero that Jorge Messi has come together with Barcelona lawyers to come up with a deal for the player. Romero even said that Messi’s house in Barcelona was being prepared for his return.
