Arsenal’s Pet Dog: How do you motivate a bunch of players who are suddenly losing in the title race? Get a pet dog. That seems to be the mantra of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta. Arsenal are not new to strange drills or theme somg of opposition like ‘You’ll never walk alone’ on speakers to dodgeball. The Gunners have tried their all to pip Manchester City to the title race. But with that is also failing, Arteta has adopted a pet labrador named “Win” to recharge their batteries in the last mile of the race. Follow Premier League Live with InsideSport.IN
Win, a chocolate labrador dog, roams around in the training ground and spends time with players. Research shows that petting a dog can be calming and reduce stress levels. Win has been a regular attendee at London Colney, Hertfordshire. He was even present when Aaron Ramsdale signed his new contract. One of the Arsenal staff is the owner of the dog.
Fans also jumped in to react on the news on Twitter. One fan said, “I’d prefer he came back with caicedo” referring to the Brighton youngster.
Another fan wrote, “Better signing than Fabio Vieira to be fair”
A fan questioned, “will he start against forest???”
A fan appreciated the move saying, “As a dog lover I’m all for this. I think it will genuinely create a great spirit for the team”
A fan suggested, “Should have got a cat, that’s the mentality you want, a cat who will take on anybody and doesn’t know when it is beaten”
However, Win is not the only pet in the Arsenal squad. A cat named Bob was also adopted by the Gunners after her owner died.
Arsenal will be searching for a different ‘Win’ than their pet against Forest. The title race has fallen apart for the Gunners as they have now lost the 8-point advantage against City, who are just one win away from claiming the trophy. Arsenal have only won two games in last 5, which has closed the gap between them and City.
From here on, Arsenal will not only have to win their remaining two games, but they will also have to pray that City loses on all 3 occasions. City are currently 4 points ahead of Arsenal, with 85 points and they only 3 points from available 9 to win the league.
