The Glazers family, current owners of the club, announced last year about the sale of the club. The processes are ongoing and currently, the interested buyers have submitted their 2nd bids. However, it doesn’t seem like United’s new owners will be confirmed before April.

Marcus Rashford, who is doing exceptionally well for United, wants to sign a new contract with the new owners. His current contract will keep him until the summer of 2024. United have a year extension clause in his contract, which they might trigger in order to keep him till 2025. Rashford will be waiting till April, in order to sign the new contract with United.

However, the case doesn’t stop here. Rashford, who currently ears around £200,000 per week must be eyeing a big raise after his recent performances. But due to the so-called Cristiano Ronaldo rule, United have a salary cap of £300,000 salary, which likely needs to be broken in order to retain Rashford.

What if Marcus Rashford doesn’t sign a new deal for Manchester United?

If Rashord doesn’t sign a new contract with United, then most of the top clubs from Europe will be eyeing to gain his services. Last summer, PSG were keen on signing the English player, but the asking price was set too high by United, according to reports.

Barcelona have also been interested in Rashford for a long time. With Robert Lewandowski, they have a short-term solution, but iRashford could fix some issues as a long-term striker.

On other hand, United can’t afford to lose Rashford. They put their trust and faith in the player when he was struggling and it is unlikely they let him leave. The Red Devils’ management is well aware of his true potential and they must be keen on offering a new deal to Rashford.
