Graham Potter was compelled to make two adjustments from Tuesday’s 2-0 victory against Dortmund by Chelsea. Raheem Sterling isn’t healthy enough to make the team because of a tight hamstring. Due to an illness, Reece James did not participate in training on Friday. He’s not even on the squad. Just making his third appearance for Chelsea, Mykhailo Mudryk makes his first start since February 11.

At right-wing back, Ruben Loftus-Cheek also enters the game. Mason Mount, who is still recovering from a pelvis injury, hasn’t travelled, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hasn’t either due to a back issue. Although N’Golo Kante is not well, he could play when Everton comes to Stamford Bridge the following Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers makes two changes from the team that lost at Southampton, but Harvey Barnes is only healthy enough to sit on the bench for Leicester. Tete and Barnes, who had an ankle issue, move to the bench as Patson Daka and Daniel Amartey both enter the game. Jonny Evans rejoins the team after undergoing thigh surgery. Victor Kristiansen (ankle), Youri Tielemans (Achilles), and James Justin (Achilles) are out.

After victories over Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund, the visitors were feeling confident. In the 11th minute, Chilwell’s exquisite left-footed volley beat goalkeeper Danny Ward at his near post to give the visitors the lead.

After scoring first, Chelsea made the mistake of letting up, and in the 39th minute, forward Joao Felix turned the ball over in his own half. The forward Patson Daka received the loose ball and scored a goal by putting the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Following the equaliser, Leicester kept up the pressure, but Chelsea struck shortly before halftime when Enzo Fernandez set Havertz up with a deft chip and the German floated the ball over Ward.

At the break, the hosts didn’t let up in their intensity and were denied an equaliser by Conor Gallagher, a substitute, before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall erred with a close-range shot to absolve Chelsea. Mykhailo Mudryk, who Chelsea signed in January, had a goal disallowed for offside before setting up Kovacic, whose thunderous volley gave the London club the three points in the 78th minute.
