It took Karim Benzema seven minutes to hit three goals as Real Madrid have gone against Real Valladolid at Santiago Bernabeu. The 35-year-old striker led his team to a Champions League and a La Liga title last year. For his contributions, he was even awarded the Ballon d’Or last year. These goals takes his La Liga goal tally to 11 this season and to a sensational 342 for Real Madrid.
Rodrygo opened the scoresheet for Real Madrid at the 22nd-minute mark. However, Benzema took the wheel from there on. He scored his first goal 7 minutes later when Vinicius Jr. got into the perfect position to cross the ball into the box. He passed the ball to the far post where Benzema was waiting and as the ball arrived, the striker stooped low and headed the ball into the back of the net.
It took only 3 minutes for his second goal to arrive. At the 32nd-minute mark, the team moved ahead to the final third by slicing Valladolid’s midfield with quick passes. Rodrygo found Vini Jr. who then banded with Benzema again and found him near the box. Benzema moved around and found a better angle at the edge of the box to take his brilliant shot into the top corner.

Four more minutes into the game, Real Madrid found themselves again inside Valladolid’s box. Rodrygo managed to get into the box and cross the ball toward the penalty area where the ball found Benzema. To think that after hitting a brace against them, Valladolid defenders would mark him a little better, but they rather left him unattended. Benzema took the opportunity and shot an overhead kick into the net to make history.
To put Real Valladolid into more misery, Madrid didn’t stop there. Along with Rodrygo and Benzema, both Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez got their name up on the scoresheet. Though, this doesn’t change their situation a lot as they still remain 12 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona. However, this will give them a much-needed boost of confidence as they face Barcelona next in the Copa Del Rey semi-final 2nd leg where they are already 1 goal behind their arch-rivals.
