Gavi Transfer: As the Gavi Barcelona registration saga deepens, rival clubs became alert about the situation and started monitoring the case closely. Barcelona have gone deeper into trouble after the same court that allowed Gavi to be registered as a Barcelona senior player, has now rescinded the decision. Barcelona announced back on January 30 that they got permission to officially register Gavi under the directions of a court. This happened in spite of La Liga’s actions to block the deal. La Liga appealed and as a result, the decision was overturned by the Mercantile Court of Barcelona.

Barcelona apparently failed to turn in the required paperwork in time which resulted in this situation. The rescinding of the registration means that the contract Gavi signed till 2026 in September, last year becomes invalid in this situation. In that case, Gavi will have to play on his youth deal which ends in the summer of this year. That also means that he will have to go back to playing in his #30 jersey rather than the #6 jersey that he dons now.

However, as per reports, Gavi is not affected in any way and he will continue to give his 100% in the field. The only way Barcelona can keep Gavi playing for the first team on his latest contract is if they reduce their wages. As per La Liga, Barcelona will have to cut down £177 million from their budget to sign or register any new player to their team. Otherwise, as the summer comes, Gavi will become a free agent, and given his talent, many of the biggest clubs around the world have become alert.

According to reports, Manchester City, Liverpool, and now Bayern Munich have been closely following the case to jump in when the opportunity opens up. Gavi has over 80 appearances for Barcelona and he has also earned a regular first-team spot for the Spain National Team long back. He has become an integral part whose absence affects and gets conspicuous for both teams. On top of everything, he is only 18 years of age, which makes it understandable why the world’s biggest clubs are after him.
