Multiple clubs like Barcelona, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and even his current club Bayern are interested in signing the right-back. Bayern have an option to buy the defender when the loan ends for reportedly €70m. But, the club has publically insisted that this price is too steep, which means only a negotiation will see him continue at the German club.
According to reports, Real Madrid denied the loan offer in the winter transfer window, which eventually saw Caneclo joining Bayern Munich. However, they are now interested in signing the 28-year-old Portuguese as defending Champions League winner have very little option on their right side.
Real’s rival, Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on the defender, but considering the high price and their priority to sign Lionel Messi, a move seems very unlikely. Notably, Cancelo wants to join the Catalan club and his agent Jorge Mendes is likely to be working on a loan move to the club.

Arsenal have also joined to race to grab Cancelo’s signature next summer. Arteta had a brief time working with the defender before he joined the Gunners. Moreover, he has already signed a few names at Arsenal from City, which has proved to be significant in their title run this season.
Cancelo joined Manchester City in 2019 from Juventus after signing a six-year long contract. The move made him the most expensive right-back ever. However, his performance in the first season was not up to the expectations and he struggled to feature ahead of Kyle Walker.
But, then his versatility proved to be the key, which saw him evolve as an attacking left-back player under Pep Guardiola. The Portuguese has now over 100 appearances and 3 trophies with Manchester City.
