Brazil vs Morocco: New Brazil coach Ederson Moraes released the squad for their friendly match against Morocco a few weeks ago. He has made some significant changes and one of them is excluding their regular goalkeeper Alisson from Liverpool. The coach included Ederson from Manchester City instead of Alisson which even surprised Ederson himself. Follow FIFA Friendlies LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Brazil Squad against Morocco:
Goalkeepers: Ederson, Mycael, Weverton
Defenders: Arthur, Emerson Royal, Alex Telle, Renan Lodi, Ibañez, Éder Militão, Marquinhos, Robert Renan
Midfielders: Casemiro, Andrey Santos, André, Joao Gomes, Lucas Paquetá, Raphael Veiga
Forwards: Antony, Richarlison, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, Rony, Vitor Roque
New Brazil boss, Ederson Moraes also excluded Neymar Jr. from the squad as well owing to his injury. However, his exclusion of Alisson from the team has been the most surprising for the Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. When asked, Ederson said that this is actually “a matter of opportunities for younger players” who will be glad to play in their country colours.
When the player was asked about it, Ederson said, “I was surprised when I saw the list first. It might be the coach’s decision.” It can be guessed that Ederson will be the first choice for Brazil’s match against Morocco. Mycael is only 19 years old who’s playing for Athletico Paranaense, whereas Weverton is 35 years old who’s currently playing in Palmeiras.
When asked if he thinks his time has come to play as Brazil’s first choice on a regular basis, he said, “It’s too early to think about that.” However, the player has said that he will not be wasting this chance, “It is always important to start a cycle and for me, I will try to start in the best way possible.”
Alisson exclusion left #Brazil team-mates “surprised” – “I do not know why”
There are no #Liverpool players in the Brazil squad for the first time since 2021, with Ederson left “surprised” by the decision to omit Alisson.

He added, “As we know it is a long procedure, you can live through many phases during this period and many things can happen. You need to work hard and maintain consistency as much as possible.” Ederson has only had 19 opportunities so far in his career to play in Brazil jersey, but if he impresses the coach against Morocco, his appearances could just become regular.
In the English Premier League, both Ederson and Alisson are giving excellent performances. Both have managed to keep 10 clean sheets in the tournament by now. The number of goals they have conceded throughout the match also differs very little. Ederson has conceded 25 goals for Manchester City whereas Alisson has conceded 29 goals for Liverpool.
