Gurpreet Sandhu made amends after giving up a penalty. In the centre of the field, Rowllin Borges receives the ball and passes it to Bipin Singh just outside the penalty area. Singh then sprints forward and turns the ball over to Lallianzuala Chhangte on the right side. As the ball travels towards the goalkeeper, Aleksandar Jovanovic challenges Bipin Singh inside the area, but Jorge Diaz just manages to get to it first, and Gurpreet Sandhu mistimes his challenge and pulls him down.
The crowd here erupts in jubilation when BFC takes the lead. Siva Narayanan receives the ball on the left wing, cuts inside while faking a cross with his right foot, and then kicks the ball with his left foot. Without a defender in tow, Javier Hernandez attacks it and comfortably heads it into the goal.

Just inside the box, Rahul Bheke delivers a fantastic cross from the right wing; Sandesh Jhingan misses with his header, and Bipin Singh chests it down for Rowllin Borges, who shoots but Gurpreet Sandhu saves it well. Bipin Singh, though, slides the ball into the back of an open net after it bounces up within the box.
After BFC edged the 1st Leg 1-0, MCFC has come roaring back to take the 2nd Leg 2-1 and level the tie across the two legs. The scores were level 1-1 at half time and both teams went toe-to-toe in the next 45 minutes. MCFC had more of the ball and did create a lot of chances in the second half.
The second half was fiercely contested as well and it was Mehtab Singh who headed in MCFC’s second goal in the 66th minute to level the aggregate score.MCFC bossed the game from then on but BFC had regular chances on the counter. In extra time, Jorge Diaz missed a couple of golden opportunities whereas Phurba Lachenpa made a couple of sensational saves to take the game into a penalty shoot-out.
And, it was a long shoot-out as well with players from both teams scoring with ease until MCFC’s hero from earlier on, Mehtab Singh saw his spot-kick saved by Gurpreet which was also the 17th kick of the shoot-out to allow BFC a real shot at glory. Sandesh Jhingan stepped up and scored the match-winning penalty to send the crowd into ecstasy and BFC storm into the Final.
