Croatia advanced to the tournament’s semi-finals after defeating Brazil on penalties in one of the most dramatic FIFA World Cup games of this season. Neymar broke the deadlock in the first half of extra time to give Brazil the lead after the game was scoreless after 90 minutes. The joy, however, was short-lived, as Bruno Petkovic equalized with three minutes remaining. Rodrygo missed the first penalty shootout effort for Brazil, and Marquinhos missed the deciding shot, as Croatia won 4-2.

The first was Neymar’s interaction with Marquinhos, in which the Brazilian forward stated that the defender’s missed penalty would not change his opinion of him. Marquinhos was one of two Brazilians to miss the penalty shootout against Croatia, along with Rodrygo. “One penalty won’t change what I think of you,” Neymar wrote to which Marquinhos replied: “I really wanted everything to go well, but we have to be strong, give it time and see what football has in store for us,” .
During his conversation with Thiago Silva, the PSG forward expressed his desire to win the World Cup for the veteran defender. Thiago Silva’s response was straight forward and direct.
“Brother, it’s more f**ked up than I imagined, really,” Silva wrote. I can’t take it. I can’t believe we lost. I can’t believe it. Every time I think about it I want to cry, motherf**ker.”

Neymar also attempted to console Rodrygo after the teenager apologized for missing the first penalty. Rodrygo wrote to Neymar ” Sorry for everything and postponing your dream too. I hope that you continue with us so we can conquer together ”
The Brazilian talisman sent back a heartfelt response for the youngster. “You say you’re sorry, are you crazy?” Neymar replied. “Only those are right even have the chance to miss. You are amazing.”
However, the Brazil star apologized for making public the serious interactions between him and his teammates. “I decided to show (without their permission) these messages to show how much we wanted to win and how united we were,” Neymarexplained to his followers.
“These were some of the many messages I exchanged with the group.”
