Saudi Arabia have been confirmed as hosts for FIFA World Cup 2034 after they emerged as the sole bidder for the marquee event

In the latest development, Saudi Arabia have been confirmed as the hosts for FIFA World Cup 2034. The decision was informed to the 211 member nations by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Wednesday in a virtual meeting. Additionally, Spain, Portugal and Morocco have been confirmed as the hosts for the FIFA World Cup 2030.

Saudi Arabia were confirmed as hosts for FIFA World Cup 2034 after all 211 members casted their votes. As per reports, Saudi emerged as the sole bidder for the event in 2034. The tournament is likely to take place in 2034. Reports also stated that the Saudi Arabian bid was awarded a record-high mark of 419.8 out of 500 after an assessment from FIFA.

Meanwhile, the first three matches of FIFA World Cup 2030 will be hosted in Argetina, Uruguay and Paraguay to celebrate 100 years of FIFA WC. The main stage of the tournament will then move to Portugal, Spain and Morocco.

FIFA confined the hosting eligibility of the WC to Asia or Oceania, following the decision to hold the 2030 edition across three continents—Africa, Europe, and South America.
