FIFA World Cup LIVE: Qatar is withdrawing flights from 18 destinations. The decision is made to accommodate the FIFA World Cup fans properly in the Hamad International Airport travelling from across the globe. An estimated 1.2 million football fans will flock to Qatar during the WC. But Qatar is already undergoing a scarcity of space to land flights and also to accommodate fans. With the reduction in new destinations, Doha will be able to accommodate more shuttle flights for ease of fans. Qatar Airports are now expecting almost 500 shuttle flights to land in the airports per day during the event. The number charter flights and private jet visits are still to be measured.

This decision has already seen a surge in demands of shuttle planes. The previous rule did not allow any non-FIFA World Cup match ticket holders to enter the country during World Cup.
However, the recent rules are now providng an option for non-ticket holders to visit Qatar and enjoy the World Cup atmosphere in the fan zones. International fans with match tickets can also invite three guests to Qatar. This abrupt change has hiked the number of planes expected to land during the tournament.

Hayya Services had recently said, there have been 1.5 million applications for passes from fans across the globe. The FIFA President soon declared ticket sales are almost nearing three millions this year. FIFA is garnering more than 3 million attendants every year since 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The recent rules on pass has also boomed hotels businesses during the World Cup. The Government has already taken numerous measures to curb the accomodation problems from rising. As the World Cup inches closer, Qatar is committed to give a warm hospitality to the foreign fans.
