On October 11, India will play the United States to open the competition. On October 14, India will play Morocco. Brazil vs. India will play in the last group game on October 17. All of India’s games will take place in Bhubaneswar at the Kalinga Stadium.

A series of international friendlies have begun in Spain with the arrival of the India U-17 Women’s squad. The team is preparing for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place later this year, with these friendlies. The Odisha government has been helping the Young Tigresses set their camp in Bhubaneswar.

The Sweden U-17 Women’s Team defeated the India U-17 Women’s Team 1-3 on Monday at the Torremirona Relais in Spain. On the eve of the home FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the Indian girls’ exposure tour’s opening game took place. Ida Gramfors, Sara Frigren, and Selma Astrom gave Sweden’s U-17 girls a 3-0 lead before Sudha Tirkey scored India’s lone goal.

The Indian U-17 women’s football team had a difficult time in the Sixth Torneo Tournament in Italy as well. They lost their first three games—0-7 to the hosts, 1-3 to Chile, and 0-2 to Mexico. Throughout the competition, the athletes ran across a lot of space for growth, starting with a 0-7 defeat against the Italian hosts. In spite of losing to Chile 1-3, they played brilliantly against Mexico. They collected themselves and played much better. India’s lone goal versus Chile in Italy came from Kajol. Against Mexico, some great opportunities were made, but the final touch was absent.

India possessed a strong team of forwards, including Lynda Serto Kom, Kajol, and Nitu Linda, but they lacked the finishing touch necessary to score goals. These young players have been prolific scorers on an individual level, but because they haven’t played many games together, their coordination hasn’t improved. The lack of teamwork had an impact on the girls as opponents shrewdly exploited any openings made by the players. Because the teams lacked an adequate supply line and transition, there was also a substantial influence from the lack of cohesiveness between the midfield and attackers.

As a result of giving up an extensive number of goals in the games, the team’s defensive shortcomings were made clear. This appears to be a very dismal result given the talent level of players like ARA FC’s Naketa and captain Astam Oraon. However, the goals being conceded were significantly influenced by the team’s manque of coordination, which primarily came from not playing. It will be challenging to control the front without the defence being overpowered when playing high-scoring opponents like Brazil and the United States, who have scored 33 and 58 goals in seven games, respectively. However, Shilky Devi’s return to the competition line would give the defending line much-needed strength.

Lack of time is the root cause of every issue the young Tigresses encounter. Due to the team’s lack of competition and international friendlies, there were weaknesses in communication and teamwork that could have been exploited by strong rivals like the United States, Brazil, or even Morocco. Despite the organization’s preparation camps, the team lacked attitude due to a lack of competitive games. However, the team showed some glimpses of strength against Chile and Mexico. Given enough time, the deficiencies can be corrected, but with just about a week left until the FIFA U17 World Cup, it appears that time is the most crucial element influencing the performance and making a difference.
