The AIFF released an official statement on this matter saying the Federation follows a zero-tolerance policy on indiscipline. The Assistant coach of the India U17 Women team Alex Ambrose has been asked to stop making any contact with the team.

  • Previously in 2017, India U17 coach, Nicolai Adams was fired by AIFF for inflicting abusive behaviors on the Indian squad ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup 2017.

“An event of misconduct has been reported in the U17 women’s team currently on an exposure tour to Europe. The AIFF follows a zero-tolerance policy on indiscipline. As an initial action, the Federation has provisionally suspended the individual pending further investigation. The AIFF has asked the concerned individual to stop all contact with the team, return to India immediately, and be physically present for further investigations upon his arrival.” read the official statement from AIFF.

Speaking exclusively to InsideSport.IN, senior official Subrata Datta said, “I’m not in a position to comment on the matter. It [Whenever has happened] is unfortunate and disgusting.”

Though reports have also emerged that previously complaints were raised against the individual concerned, there is no official confirmation from the apex football body of the country as to whether they have received complaints about the same. This news comes as a major shock for the footballing fans with the prestigious World Cup scheduled to take place in India in October.

With India being the host country for FIFA U17 World Cup, this news brings shame to the country at the Internationa standard. Previously during the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2017, India’s U17 coach Nicolai Adams for abusive behavior toward the youngsters of the Indian squad.

The Young Tigresses participated in the 6th Torneo Female Football Tournament in Italy from June 22 to 26, where they lost against like Italy and Chile. India U-17 women’s team suffered a 0-7 defeat against Italy in Grandisco D’lsonzo in the Female Football Tournament. Later in the match against Chile, the Indian women lost by 1-3.
