As Arsenal drew 1-1 with Nurnberg courtesy to a Jorginho own goal, Bukayo Saka stole the show.Saka scored the game’s first goal with a stunning strike, shimmying in from the right wing and driving the ball into the bottom corner. Amazingly, Nurnberg came back and scored an odd own goal to tie the score. The backup custodian, Karl Hein, threw an errant pass from the edge of his own box. Jorginho slashed his foot at the ball in an effort to control it, but all he managed to do was send the ball back into Arsenal’s goal.

Saka was as bubbly as ever and appeared just as slick as he did in the 2022–23 season. Arsenal lost their offensive flair when he was replaced, but he deserves praise for continuously upsetting the Nurnberg defensive.

Hein must be the one. The Estonian international was generally awful, directly causing the own goal, as he kept fumbling the ball. He mishandled a shot from the edge of the box, and Nurnberg hit the crossbar as a result. The Major League Soccer All-Stars will face Arsenal in their second preseason matchup the following week.
