But recently, a Brazilian footballer’s name has come up with a rather surprising one.
The footballer’s name is Mahatma Gandhi. Yes, there is actually a player in Brazil who plays as a defender for a club there, Ipora. The 31-year-old’s full name is Mahatma Gandhi Heberpio Mattos Pires and started his career with Atletico Clube Goianiense way back in 2011. This only goes to show, that India’s father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi is revered all over the world, and not just in our country.

Meanwhile, Pires is not the only footballer in Brazil who shares a name with a famous personality. As per a report in DNA, there is a footballer there, who goes by the name of the famous cartoon character Pikachu. In fact, there is a John Lennon too over there. To make things even more interesting, there is a player in Brazil by the name of Mosquito.
