EXCLUSIVE: ‘We are on the way’: Brandon Fernandes pledges comeback for Mumbai City FC in ISL 2024-25

Mumbai City FC has won just 2 games in ISL so far from their opening 6 encounters

Mumbai City FC hasn’t had the start they expected in the Indian Super League (ISL 2024-25). But the Islanders are on the road to a major comeback. After a slow start, the Mumbai outfits went on to beat Kerala Blasters 4-2 in the latest outing. And with momentum on this side, ace playmaker Brandon Fernandes wants to build on these wins to stage a mega comeback.

As things stand in the ISL Points Table, Mumbai City FC are placed 8th with 9 points. From 6 games, the side has notched up 2 wins, 3 draws, and a solitary loss to Jamshedpur FC. Speaking exclusively to InsideSport, Brandon Fernandes claimed that he wants to end the season with a couple of silverware under his belt.

Ready to stage a massive comeback

After a rather lackluster start, MCFC’s comeback began with a stunning win against FC, a 2-1 win with the Islanders beating the Gaurs at Fatorda. The Mumbai side then followed it with a 1-1 draw against Odisha and a 4-2 thrilling encounter in the West Coast derby.

“I think we are on the way to come back. We won the last game, and I think we have to build on this, and, nothing’s gonna change for us. We always go into the game with the mindset to win the game,” Brandon Fernandes told this website.

Right now, we won our last game, and, the main thing will be to build on that in the next game. I hope to have a successful season. Hopefully, end the season with a few trophies. And, personally, I would want to add more numbers to what I had the previous season,” he chirped.

“We have we have the schedule very organized, in the club with training and rest days, and I think, everyone in the club is helping the players, especially the medical team. They’re always there to help the player recover faster. We have, a few days of rest in between. I think we’ll be we’ll be ready for that. It won’t be a problem. We’ll go there to win the game and continue the winning run,” Brandon added.

All praises for Coach & Special Fans

Brandon also heaped mega praises on Mumbai City FC head coach Petr Kratky. The ace playmaker claimed that the coach is a very good person and easily approachable. Brandon further added that Coach Petr is always open to everyone and helps every player on the squad.

“If you speak about the coach, Peter, he’s a good gentleman. He is somebody who helps the players a lot. Very open. You can you can just go and speak with him. He’s there to help, talking about the tactics,” Brandon added.
