Former Barcelona ace Gerard Pique, has spoken up about his violent breakup with Shakira. He stated that he is unconcerned about what has been written about him. After 11 years together, Pique and Shakira announced their divorce in June 2022. It came after claims that the Barcelona icon had strayed on the singer.
“If I had given importance to what they say about me now I would be locked in an apartment or I would have thrown myself off the sixth floor,” he told RAC1.
Shakira accused Pique of betraying her when her father was in serious care, resulting in an unceremonious separation. In a diss song, the Colombian superstar again savaged Pique. In which she sings about having “traded a Ferrari for a Twingo.”
The former defender responded by driving around in the £8,000 Renault automobile. Pique has now spoken out about the affair. He insisted that the public has no idea what truly happened between the couple.
“The only way to get out of all this alive is to ignore it. I can’t go out every day to deny things that aren’t real. I don’t want to talk about it and I won’t talk about it, but of everything that has happened, people don’t know even 10 per cent of what happened.” Gerard Pique added to it.
Last year in January, Pique posted an Instagram picture to officially announce his relationship with girlfriend Clara Chia. In response, Shakira posted a second video on social media. In which she made fun of the former Barcelona player by joking that she “might kill my ex”.
Pique is still working on his Kings League, which is a seven-a-side league initiative. He recently announced the creation of the Kings League Americas, which would have its base in Mexico and begin operations in January 2024.
