Mikel Arteta’s side made their trip to Goodison Park at the back of a poor recent record. The Gunners hadn’t won at the ground in six years, getting beaten thrice.

Arteta decided to hand out a debut to summer signing goalkeeper David Raya in place of Aaron Ramsdale. Fabio Viera started in midfield in place of Kai Havertz. Olexandr Zinchenko was reinstated at left-back with Eddie Nketiah getting the nod ahead of Gabriel Jesus.

Everton Manager Sean Dyche opted to start with Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the bench.

Arsenal started the match in a confident fashion, creating quite a few chances already. Gabriel Martinelli scored for the Gunners in the 19th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside by VAR.

Martinelli seemed to have felt something while scoring the goal and was taken off.

Trossard came in and gelled easily with the team, not breaking a sweat.

Everton were hardly threatening with David Raya making no real saves. Everton saw past an attacking Arsenal to move into the dugout without conceding a goal at the end of first half.

Trossard scored from a wonderful goal in the second half when he volleyed a cutback by Bukayo Saka.

With the win, the Gunners climbed to the fourth spot of the Premier League table with 13 points in 5 games.
