Euro 2024 Points Table: Georgia stun Portugal, Belgium make RO16 spot

Euro 2024 Points Table: Germany tops Group A, Spain tops Group B, England tops Group C, Portugal tops Group F in UEFA Euro 2024

The UEFA Euro 2024 kicked off with Germany vs Scotland in the opening game. Hosts Germany thrashed Scotland 5-1 to take a commanding lead in the Group A. Switzerland joins Germany after their 3-1 win over Hungary. But the hosts remain on top with better Goal Difference. Spain comfortably defeated Albania 1-0 to go and top Group B. Italy managed a late 1-1 draw against Croatia to go through Round of 16.

Netherlands defeated Poland 2-1 to take top spot in Group D. On the other hand Denmark played out a 1-1 draw against Slovenia. England began their account with a 1-0 win over Serbia. And with Denmark’s draw, the Three Lions now top Group C. Romania surprised Ukraine with a 3-0 demolition. But it was Slovakia who pulled off a massive upset by beating Belgium 1-0. France kick started their campaign with a 1-0 win over Austria.

Turkey secured a ravaging 3-1 win over Georgia. But Portugal had to toil hard to earn a hard fought three points against Czech Republic. Croatia failed to register yet another win as they succumbed to a 2-2 draw with Albania. Germany secured a 2-0 win over Hungary to secure the top spot in Group A. In the last game of the day, Scotland played out a thrilling 1-1 draw against Switzerland.

Slovenia and Serbia played out a 1-1 draw. But Harry Kane and England were held to a shocking 1-1 draw by a resilient Denmark. On the other hand, Spain tops Group B with a hard fought 1-0 win over Italy. France and Netherlands played out a goalless draw in an exciting encounter. Portugal secure their RO16 spot with a 3-1 win over Turkey as Belgium register their maiden win with a 2-0 victory over Romania.

We finally entered in the third round of games and the fate of Group A has been finalized. Euro favorites Germany were looking at a second-place finish before a 92nd minute header by Niclas Fullkrug finished the game at 1-1. With this, the hosts secured a table-top finish with 7 points. Switzerland, meanwhile, finished second with 5 points. However, the major drama unfolded in the Scotland vs Hungry match, where almost a 100th min winner by Kevin Csoboth sent Hungry through to the 3rd-place finish! The match went for this long due to a sickening collision between Barnabas Varga and Scottish keeper Angus Gunn.
