Euro 2024 will be histed by Germany. But ahead of the start of the tournament, Julian Nageslmann’s side has been plagued with injuries. More importantly, the German side are to miss two crucial strikers in the mega tournament. These include the likes of Serge Gnabry and Timo Werner.
Germany kick start Euro 2024 on 14th June as they take on Scotland. But the hosts could be without their two key forwards which can be a major trouble for Germany.
Injury concerns plague Germany
Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry has reportedly torn a muscle on his left hamstring. This essentially means he is going to miss the remainder of the season for the Bavarians. More importantly, he is highly unlikely to feature for the Die Mannschaft in the Euros 2024.
The other injury concern is with Timo Werner. The striker who is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur has injured his thigh. As a result, the player is unlikely to make it to the Euros 2024 squad for Germany. Currently on loan from RB Leipzig, Timo Werner’s season with Spurs is over with his injury.
Though a decision is yet to be taken on the availability of the two forwards for Euro, but as per reports in Germany, it is highly likely that the duo can make it for the hosts.
Germany recently played out a 2-1 win over Netherlands. Head coach Julian Nageslmann extended his stay with the National team, ending speculations about a possible return to Bayern Munich.
“First and foremost, that the ten days from A to Z were a lot of fun. The group did it really, very well, they have a very good relationship with each other, but also a brutal ambition. We already had a good feeling against France. And again today,” Nageslmann said after Germany’s win against Netherlands.
