Real Madrid apparently has Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe on their radar in the summer transfer window. Los Blancos are said to have a £342 million ($429 million) transfer fund for the summer. While the PSG star has been in their bucket list for long, the Norway international is also a target.

Under Florentino Perez’s leadership, the La Liga giants are famous for their ‘Galacticos’ recruitment programme. In the past, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, David Beckham, and Luis Figo have all checked that box for Real Madrid.

According to respectable Spanish sports weekly Diario AS, the Spanish giants might have a budget of up to £342 million. This includes £111 million in the bank and up to £231 million for which financing has already been identified and authorised. Real Madrid have also made room in their wage bill for five or six seasons of a superstar to remain on the books since their compensation expenditures have lowered.

Diario AS claims that their annual salary expense of £284 million is £68 million lower than it was in the summer of 2022. However their overall income has climbed by 17%. Moving on senior statesmen like Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard has undoubtedly helped Real Madrid reduce their payroll expense.

Insidesport

Real Madrid has long been interested in Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe. If he does not exercise his contract extension option, the move will take place at the end of the current season.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland has a release clause in his Manchester City contract that may be triggered by teams outside England. The option is worth £172 million ($216 million) next summer and £150 million ($188 million) in 2025.
