Eden Hazard Transfer: La Liga: Eden Hazard exists was once a hot property at Chelsea in the Premier League, but after that, there has been no sign of the same player again. Hazard moved to Real Madrid in 2019 and has been plagued by injuries and fitness issues. He has never made a place for himself in the Los Blancos team so far. His contract expires in 2024 and his latest words suggest that he is in no hurry to leave the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Follow La Liga LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

Eden Hazard has finally spoken out about a potential summer move. Five years after joining Real Madrid from Chelsea, the 32-year-old Belgian winger will have his Real Madrid contract expire at the conclusion of the upcoming season.

Fenerbahce is apparently interested in signing him, but with no chance of an extension after a difficult spell with Los Blancos, he appears destined to leave the Bernabeu in 2024. However, Hazard has every intention of making the most of the remaining 12 months on his club-record £400,000-per-week-plus contract rather than leaving at the conclusion of this season to attempt and revive his career.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, he said, ‘Honestly, I’m planning to stay at Real Madrid next season. I expect to stay as I want to celebrate the last year of the contract I have left.’

Fans react to Hazard’s statement

After playing just 331 minutes of football in all competitions this season, and just 35 in La Liga since September 11, fans accused Hazard of being a money-grabber who has yielded one goal and two assists this season.

He has also missed 24 of Real Madrid’s 33 league games in 2022–23. Hazard, who has a history of injuries, has played in 75 games and scored just seven goals since moving from Stamford Bridge for an initial £88 million.

One fan tweeted, ‘I want to stay for one more year to collect my big salary, whilst collecting silverware on the bench.’ Another one added, ‘This one is so unserious. I don’t even pity him anymore. He prefer that sweet money.’

The 126-cap former captain of Belgium has won six trophies during that period, including two La Ligas and the Champions League despite his little involvement. He will also receive the medal as Real Madrid have won the Copa Del Rey this season, even though Hazard hardly has had any involvement.

Florentino Perez will be looking at ways he can avoid paying the Belgian his club-record £400,000-per-week-plus contract. He is the highest-paid player at Los Blancos currently and it will be interesting to see how Perez will deal with this situation.
