Barcelona midfielder has reacted harshly to the 2-1 defeat at the hands of archrivals Real Madrid in season’s first El Clasico. Gundogan, who joined the La Liga side from treble winners Manchester City this summer, suggested his Barcelona teammates were ‘not disappointed enough’ after the defeat.

Gundogan scored the only goal for Barca in the fifth minute yesterday. However, a second half brace from Jude Bellingham turned the tie around for Los Blancos.
Speaking to the reporters after the match, Gundogan made no attempt to hide his emotions. He was asked about the hurt this kind of defeat caused.
Wish there was more frustration: Gundogan
“I have to be honest, not as much as I wish. Don’t want to say something wrong to be honest. I was just in the dressing room, and of course people are disappointed. But especially after losing such a big game and such a result, I wish there was more frustration and anger, more disappointment,” Gundogan said.
The midfielder, who won the treble with Man City last season, stressed on bringing more emotion to the table.
“This is a problem you know. There has to be more emotion, especially when you lose. You know that you can perform better, you can do better in in certain situations, and you just don’t react and is transfers to the pitch. We need to have a huge step in that, otherwise Real Madrid or even Girona will run away from us,” he said.
Gundogan made it clear he will push his teammates to put on better show and promised to put up more resistance in the near future.
“I didn’t come here to lose these types of games and let the gap create. There’s also a responsibility from myself, you know an experienced player, to not let these things happen. We need resistance,” he said.
