The Juventus star’s shocking move to the Premier League champions sees Dailymail dig up a previous interview of Ronaldo where the football star apparently denied answering questions about ever playing for Man City during an interview back in 2015.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had earlier refused to answer questions on whether he would join Man City six years ago. Ronaldo had earlier said that he does not play football for money when he was asked if that would be a factor that will entice him to join the Etihad outfit.

Responding to the question, The 36-year-old was quoted by BBC saying, ‘You think the money is going to change my mind now?’ I don’t think so. I think it is not going to be a problem because if you will speak about the money, I will go to Qatar. [They] maybe have more money than Manchester City, but it’s not about the money. It’s about the passion.’
Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Manchester United’s rivals is close to becoming a reality as he edges closer to making a permanent move back to England. The former Real Madrid star was earlier offered to Manchester City earlier this month for a reported fee of £25million. Reports have also emerged that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has also been in direct contact with Pep the Eithad outfit and is currently negotiating the players’ salary with the club.
The news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s move comes just a few days after Juventus vice-chairman Pavel Nedved and Massimiliano Allegri brushed off all the rumours of the 36’s year olds departure. The Juve officials were qued saying, ‘Ronaldo will 100 per cent stay,’ by DAZN less than a week ago.
