Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr on Tuesday postponed their highly-awaited matches in Shenzhen scheduled for January 24 and 28. The club attributed the postponement to unforeseen circumstances outside of the club’s control, adding that new dates have yet to be confirmed.

Al Nassr’s tour to China generated a lot of excitement among the Chinese supporters of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Ronaldo’s injury forced him to miss out of the tour, resulting in backlash from fans.
Ronaldo has a muscle injury that would have kept him out of the friendly games against Shanghai Shenhua and Zheijang, so the decision was made to put those games on hold for now and reschedule them at a later date. Ronaldo, who has won five Ballons d’Or award, would not have been able to play in front of an enthusiastic Chinese crowd.
Al Nassr in a statement on Tuesday confirmed the cancellation of the friendly game. Although the club announced that they would be taking part in training sessions as earlier planned.
The club said they would work with the organisers to fix a date for the matches as soon as possible.
