Cristiano Ronaldo sentenced to bizzare punishment upon visiting Iran

Cristiano Ronaldo has been sentenced to a strange penalty after visiting Iran; Al Nassr star faces 99 lashes for adultery

Cristiano Ronaldo has been levied upon a bizarre punishment in Iran. According to reports, the Al Nassr has been sentenced to 99 lashes for adultery. These rumours came after Ronaldo had a warm welcome in Iran while playing for Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League versus Persepolis.

Ronaldo received gifts from passionate fans during his stay. It even has personalised Persian rugs and drawings of the footballer. It is the work of artist Fatima Hamimi, who paints with her feet. She is 85% crippled and utilises a wheelchair for movement, which has sparked debate.

Ronaldo allegedly hugged Hamimi and kissed him on the cheek to express his appreciation for the present. When engaging a lady who is not one’s husband, this act is deemed adultery under Iranian law.

According to reports, a number of Iranian attorneys have filed a criminal complaint against the hug. This is because in the nation, touching a woman who is not your wife is considered adultery. According to the article, the justice system moved swiftly and sentenced the 38-year-old to 99 lashes.

If Ronaldo’s side plays an Iranian team in the tournament’s final phases, the scenario may have an impact on him. His potential future journey to Iran is now a source of worry. However, it is claimed that if Ronaldo exhibits regret for his behaviour, the punishment can be overturned.

Since 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo has been dating model Georgina Rodriguez. The couple has two kids together. Rodriguez is also the mother of Ronaldo’s other three kids.
