The Al Nassr striker was part of a panel with the Crown Prince that held discussions on the future of Esports and launched the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia next year.

“An honour to meet again with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman and great to be part of this panel today discussing the future of esports and the launch of the first ever #esportsworldcup that will be held in Saudi Arabia next year!” Cristiano Ronaldo wrote in a post on X (previously Twitter).
Ronaldo has met the Crown prince on several occasions since arriving in Saudi Arabia for Al Nassr. The Portuguese superstar moved to the Saudi Pro League in 2022. His move started an exodus with many stars including the likes of Neymar, Milinkovic-Savic joining the League.
To talk about the Esports World Cup, the event is expected to be the largest of its kind in the world. It is expected to provide a platform for the gaming and esports industry and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s status as a center for international esports.
The crown prince also announced the establishment of the Esports World Cup Foundation, a nonprofit organization to increase collaboration between esports stakeholders.
“The Esports World Cup is the natural next step in Saudi Arabia’s journey to become the premier global hub for gaming and esports, offering an unmatched esports experience that pushes the boundaries of the industry,” said the crown prince.
The Esports World Cup will feature several popular games across various genres, and the tournament also boasts to provide the largest prize pools for winners ever offered in esports history. Moreover, the event will be complemented by a diversified set of activities and events for people who visit the event.
