The Manchester United forward was charged with a breach of FA Rule R3 for an incident that took place after their defeat at Everton in April. A video surfaced showing the Manchester United striker knocking a fan’s phone on the ground while walking towards the away dressing room. Ronaldo had been cautioned by the Merseyside police after allegations of assault and criminal damage.

A statement read: “We can confirm that a 37-year-old man voluntarily attended and was interviewed under caution in relation to an allegation of assault and criminal damage. The matter has been dealt with by way of conditional caution. The matter has now concluded.”
