The Indian Super League (ISL) Season 11 is just around the corner. This year, a total of 13 teams will participate in the season. For the first time, we will also see the three historic clubs from Kolkata compete in the ISL together. Before the ISL 11 season kicks off, let’s take a look at the all-time top goal scorers in the franchise-based league.
5. Diego Mauricio (Odisha FC and Mumbai City)
The Brazilian striker, Diego Mauricio, has scored 37 goals in the ISL, having played four seasons for two teams so far. In the 2023-24 season, he reached the 50-goal milestone. Mauricio has played for Odisha FC and Mumbai City FC in the ISL.
4. Ferran Corominas (FC Goa)
FC Goa’s striker, Ferran Corominas, played 50 games for the club and scored 47 goals. He only played one season for the Goa-based club in 2020 and then left for the Spanish club Atlético Baleares. He announced his retirement later in 2021.
3. Roy Krishna (ATK, Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC, Odisha FC)
Despite his name sounding Indian, this Fijian striker has dominated the ISL over the past five years. In his five seasons, he played a total of 92 games, scoring 50 goals. He is currently with Odisha FC, where he scored 12 goals in 22 appearances last season.
2. Sunil Chhetri (Mumbai City, Bengaluru FC)
India’s own football star, often referred to as the GOAT, Sunil Chhetri is second on the list. Chhetri has played 141 games in the ISL, scoring 53 goals. Despite retiring from international football this year, he will continue to play for Bengaluru FC in the upcoming ISL season.
1. Bartholomew Ogbeche (NorthEast United, Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City, Hyderabad FC)
The former Nigerian player and Paris Saint-Germain star, Bartholomew Ogbeche, tops the charts for the most goals in ISL history. He joined the league in 2019 and retired from football in 2023. In his four years, Ogbeche played 89 matches and scored 61 goals in the ISL.
