Eriksen could be handed over the opportunity to return to the Premier League as he used to play for Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Italy to join Serie A side Inter. Eriksen is a free agent after an agreement was met with former club Inter over the mutual termination of his contract with the Serie A champions. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest while representing Denmark at Euro 2020 in June but has stated his ambitions to continue playing football. Eriksen made over 300 appearances for Spurs between 2013 and 2020.

Christian Eriksen and Inter Milan had decided to mutually terminate the Denmark midfielder’s contract. Eriksen had suffered a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 on the pitch during the Denmark and Finland clash. After receiving life-saving treatment on the pitch, he had to be fitted with an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator).

Christian Eriksen who was ruled out since the Euro 2020 competition after suffering a cardiac arrest during his country’s opening game against Finland in June was back in training 173 days after the on-field collapse. The Inter midfielder was banned from training in Italy due to his heart condition and thus trained alone at his boyhood club in Denmark Odense.

Christian Eriksen new team: A Premier League return for Eriksen?

Christian Eriksen took to social media to share his recent interview from Danish TV station DR1 where he is heard speaking about his future ambitions in the upcoming World Cup 2022 and he also shares his memories during his collapse in Denmark’s Euro 2020 clash against Finland on June 12th last year.

“I struggled to breathe as I came to and slowly I saw the doctors surrounding me and heard voices. When our cardiologist says that I’m 30, I correct him and say hey, I’m only 29. I regained consciousness right away.”

“I remember it all, except those minutes when I was in heaven.” Describing how he felt after being revived, Eriksen said: “When I woke up from the CPR it was like waking from a dream. I was far away. I don’t remember a thing, usually you remember bits of a dream, but I don’t remember a thing from when I passed out.”
