Premier League club Chelsea’s woes does not seem to get over. Mauricio Pochettino’s team languish at the 10th spot of the Premier League table at the halfway mark, with just 22 points from 18 games. To add to the problems, the two-time UCL winners will be without two key players in their match against Crystal Palace.

Chelsea succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wolves on Sunday, with the loss being their fourth consecutive defeat in the league. To make matters worse, forwards Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer picked up yellow cards in the match. The duo will now be absent from the match against Crystal Palace, having seen five yellow cards each in the league. Interestingly, Chelsea are now the worst-behaved team in the division, with five yellows in the Wolves match taking their total to 56.

Sterling was cautioned for simulation, after contact from Joao Gomes, while Palmer received his yellow for kicking the ball away.

Pochettino cut a frustrated figure after the match. “Yes for me Raheem’s was harsh but, of course, it’s a frustration. They are young and sometimes they get frustrated but now we are without two more players,” Pochettino said after the match.

“We have to keep going and pushing, young teams learn from this sort of game. It was difficult because of the space. It made the task more difficult but we need to keep going because we are in a position which Chelsea shouldn’t be in,” Pochettino added.
