‘Christian [Pulisic] is a couple of months we think. Raheem [Sterling] is less, hopefully less than that,’ Graham Potter told reporters.

On Thursday, Pulisic was replaced due to an injury that was made worse by a tackle by John Stones. The American international lost the challenge twice, and his despair was obvious. The USA international was eventually replaced by Carney Chukwuemeka, and he was also not included in the matchday squad for the FA Cup match against City.

Potter had initially predicted that Pulisic would be out for a few weeks, but subsequent evaluation has significantly shifted the time frame for his return. Pulisic has struggled with injuries during his Chelsea career and started just 13 league games last year due to them. In all games this season, the winger has one goal and two assists.

There is hope that Raheem Sterling’s injury won’t be as serious as Pulisic’s when Chelsea resumes Premier League play. Within the first few minutes of Chelsea’s Premier League match against City, Sterling was replaced by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. After colliding with John Stones, the 28-year-old winger collapsed to the ground while grinning.

Nevertheless, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s availability for Thursday’s trip to Fulham is good news for Chelsea’s other striker options.“Pierre is fine, so will be in squad. Raheem less (than Pulisic), but still evaluating the extent. Ruben and Ben Chilwell getting closer, Reece was out on grass on his own. N’Golo is training on his own but a long way to go.”said Potter.
